Thursday, May 7, 2026 2:12PM CDT The director-general of the U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) is warning that fertilizer disruptions tied to the Strait of Hormuz will strain the global food system and tighten food supplies in the second half of 2026 and into next year.
Wednesday, May 6, 2026 8:27AM CDT Average retail prices for all eight major fertilizers were up from the previous month during the fourth full week of April 2026. Prices for three fertilizers were again up significantly, which DTN designates as anything 5% or more. The remaining five fertilizers were just slightly more expensive.
Tuesday, May 5, 2026 12:55PM CDT While Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins and others denounce Brazilian meatpackers and American reliance on foreign beef, Brazilian beef imports to the U.S. continue to soar. The Trump administration has launched at least two trade investigations into Brazil, but neither has led to any specific actions.
